Metro Mechanical remains committed to workplace mental health

Unfortunately at this festive time of year it can be tough for mental health. We all know that it isn’t a happy period for everyone and it can be a tricky time for lots of different reasons.

At Metro Mechanical we are proud to make mental health well-being a priority for all our employees. This year we have sought to address these issues in two ways:

  1. This month 7 members of our office and management team qualified as Mental Health Workplace Responders. They successfully completed their FAQ Level 2 qualification training with the wonderful people from St John Ambulance. As lots of mental health issues arise during the workday it is essential we have the knowledge and skills in our team to recognise and address issues quickly so everyone can get the help they need.
  2. As part of our suite of employee benefits we are pleased to offer our whole team Peninsula’s completely free and confidential employee advice line on 0800 047 4097. You can speak to trained counsellors about any personal issues or worries at any time of day.

If you or someone you know is dealing with difficult feelings at this time of year, these Coping with Christmas tips from Mind the mental health charity could also be helpful. Their top advice is as follows:

  • Be gentle, generous and patient with yourself
  • Plan ahead
  • Manage relationships
  • Look after yourself
  • Talking to other people
  • Get support
